Keyhaven Yacht Club 21.7.26

Our annual visit to Keyhaven Yacht Club is a firm favourite on the club calendar. All the members who attended had an absolutely fantastic time out on the water and also chatting with friends while enjoying the amazing views. A huge thank you to all the people at Keyhaven Yacht Club who gave their time and worked so hard to make this a wonderful evening for members, staff and volunteers.

It was great to have a go at steering the boat.

This was a fantastic evening to finish off our summer programme. Thank you again to everyone at Keyhaven Yacht Club for making this such a special evening. We really do appreciate your kindness.

We look forward to seeing everyone back at club on Thursday 3rd September. We have lots of exciting activities to look forward to in our new programme!

New Forest Meddlers 21.5.26

It was fantastic to welcome The New Forest Meddlers back to club. Everyone greatly enjoys listening to their lively music and joining in with the different dances. It was lovely to join in some new dances this year, especially when we all formed a chain to go in and out of the hall! A massive thank you to all the troupe for giving their time to provide a really fun evening. The event is always hugely enjoyed by members, staff and volunteers.

Members and volunteers enjoyed having fun and learning together.
Lots of people enjoyed sitting and watching the lively and intricate performances by the troupe.
We formed a chain of dancers to move in and out of the hall. Great fun!
We all managed to stay in time as we moved along!
A special treat came when club member Matthew gave an amazing Elvis rendition. Thank you Matthew.

With thirty one members attending we all agreed this had been an absolutely amazing evening. We were treated to fantastic performances and also the opportunity to have great fun and learn new skills. Thank you so much to all of The New Forest Meddlers.

Christmas Activities 27.11.25

A massive thank you to Club Leader Sarah for making 48 Christmas Cakes for everyone to decorate. Also a huge thank you to Caroline who wrapped all the cakes beautifully. It was certainly a fantastic evening with members also making and decorating tree decorations to take home.

Everyone chose their own cake and decorations.
I was very pleased with my finished cake.
It was lovely to see everyone being so creative with their use of decoration.

Some members also made Christmas Tree baubles to take home, Thank you to volunteer Howard for organising these.
Everyone created their own designs.
It was great to choose from all the different decorations.
This will look lovely on my tree.

We were very happy to have 38 members attending to enjoy this fantastic evening.

Inter Gateway Sports 4.10.25

On Saturday 4th October teams from six different Gateway Clubs took part in the Inter Gateway Sports at Brockenhurst College. A huge thank you to Ken Garrod and everyone from New Forest Rotary Club for funding and supporting this amazing event. Lots of Rotary members gave their time to to run the different activities on the day. Another huge thank you goes to Brockenhurst Gateway Assistant Leader Ryan who organised the event making sure all the teams were invited and all the activities in place. He also made sure the day ran extremely smoothly and that everyone had lots of fun and a chance to take part in each event.

Thank you to Brockenhurst Assistant Leaders Ryan and Debbie and also to Pete and Val who kept the scores throughout the day.
The day started with all the teams taking part in a warm up.

Brockenhurst Gateway Club volunteers served drinks and biscuits throughout the day to competitors, parents, carers and volunteers from all the different Gateway Clubs.

Cricket was a favourite activity.
Two members had their nails done especially for the event. They look fantastic.
The Brockenhurst Team were very pleased to receive their medals.

Everyone had a great day taking parts in activities, meeting up with friends and having lots of fun. A massive thank you goes to all the staff and volunteers from different teams and also to parents and carers who came on the day. We’re looking forward to next year already!

Skittles at The Huntsman 25.9.25

We had a fantastic Skittles evening at The Huntsman in Brockenhurst which was an amazing venue for a club night. Thank you to everyone for making us so welcome. Twenty Eight members attended the evening and everyone enjoyed a fun filled event. A massive thank you to Assistant Leader Ryan for organising everyone to have their go and for keeping track of the scoring. It was great that he was very ably assisted by club members Liam and Richard who put up the skittles and returned the balls all evening.

Everyone had three goes to try to knock the skittles down.
Hoping for a good score.

Some members also enjoyed a go on the shuffleboard.

It’s great to try a new activity.

Spending time with friends is always good.
A huge well done to Liam who was the overall winner of the skittles!

A firm favourite on our calendar is our regular visit to Keyhaven Yacht Club. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at the club for making us so welcome. A special thanks to Heather, Stuart and Matt who organised everything on the evening and leading up to the event. We were very lucky with the weather and everyone greatly enjoyed their trips out to sea.

30th Anniversary Summer Ball Photo Booth

A very popular part of the 30th Anniversary Ball was the photo booth! Lots of member, guests, staff and volunteers had their picture taken and were able to take home a picture for themselves at the end of the evening. A huge thank you to Holly and Rose for volunteering their time to organise this for us. Thank you also to Vicky for creating the balloon arch.

30th Anniversary Summer Ball 3.7.25

This year Brockenhurst Gateway Club celebrates its 30th Anniversary. We decided to mark the occasion with a special evening at The Village Hall. The hall was beautifully decorated with the canopy, drapes and twinkly lights, one member commented it was like a marquee. To make the evening special we had mocktails, a photobooth, secret tombola and an amazing live band. We also had a fantastic buffet and home made cakes beautifully decorated with a 30 on the top of each one. It was lovely that some ex leaders and volunteers were able to attend and join in the celebrations. Everyone had a fantastic night joining in the different activities and of course dancing the night away! A huge thank you to everyone who helped to make the evening a success.

Lots of members enjoyed making a special effort to dress up for the ball.
On arrival, members had the opportunity to colour an especially designed 30th Anniversary colouring sheet depicting Gateway activities.
This proved very popular.

Volunteers Jane and Janet were on hand to welcome guests as they arrived.
Members were very pleased to see Wendy who was the first ever leader of Brockenhurst Gateway.

Everyone agreed the buffet made by club leader, Sarah was fantastic.
Fabulous food served by fabulous volunteers Lorraine, Victoria, Caroline and Jane.

There was a fantastic choice of puddings.

We were very lucky that a parent of a member, Suzanne, made us 65 very special cakes for everyone to enjoy.
Everyone enjoyed the different choices of food.
It was great to chat to friends.
A massive thank you to the live band who were amazing and played music we had chosen.
The dance floor soon filled up!
Some members danced all night!
Great dancing.

Thank you to volunteer Lisa for who organised the band. I think Lisa and member Jess danced all evening!
Volunteer Lorraine led everyone, including the band in a conga to all sorts of different music!
Everyone had a great time joining in!
At the end of the evening members took home a commemorative mug to remember the evening.
Matthew was pleased with his gift to take home.

Everyone agreed it was fantastic evening. A huge thank you to everyone who supported the event. Lots of the members have already asked when we can have another similar evening!

Now we are planning for the future and excited by the next activities that are coming up in the autumn.

Woodwork 22.5.25

On Thursday 22nd May lots of members enjoyed constructing small boxes to take home to use themselves or to give to friends or family. A huge thank you to Howard for organising this activity and showing everyone how to make up the boxes. It was good too that some members were able to work independently to complete this activity and also help others.

Club Activity Nights

We hold regular club activity evenings where there are lots of different activities to choose from. These include Pool, Table Football, Puzzles, Drawing, Colouring and the snack bar is always open.

The activities are set out on tables and members choose which they would like to do, most people do several activities and of course have a chat with friends and visit the snack bar!

The snack bar is always popular and there are lots of drinks and snacks to choose from. It’s also a great place to have a chat.
Lots of members love the challenge of completing a puzzle.
The pool table is always popular.

Sometimes volunteers bring their dogs to club for part of the evening.

Volunteers run the snack bar each night.
We often play table football.
Some members like to do craft activities, including knitting.
