Shetland Pony Visit 26.6.25

Everyone was very pleased when club leader, Sarah’s Shetland ponies came for their annual visit. Thank you to Lisa too for transporting them to club.

Sport on the Forest, Balmer Lawn 19.6.25

A firm favourite on the Brockenhurst Gateway calendar is our annual visit to Balmer Lawn. A huge thank you to volunteer Jane Forrest for organising this activity. Jane has been volunteering at our club since the very beginning and has regularly hosted this event. Thank you Jane and thank you too for organising perfect weather for the evening! Everyone had a fantastic time.

Woodwork 22.5.25

On Thursday 22nd May lots of members enjoyed constructing small boxes to take home to use themselves or to give to friends or family. A huge thank you to Howard for organising this activity and showing everyone how to make up the boxes. It was good too that some members were able to work independently to complete this activity and also help others.

Games Event 15.5.25

On Thursday 15th May we held our second Annual Games Event. This was an activity that was requested by members at our review of the year in 2024. It has now become a very popular fixture on the calendar. Lots of members were keen to try out the different activities and it was certainly a busy and fun evening. Well done to everyone who tried new and different activities and, of course, joined in with old favourites!

Darts was very popular.
It was great to have the opportunity to play table tennis.
As always, the pool table was in constant use throughout the evening. It is definitely one of our most popular activities!

It’s always good to get some practise in before our annual visit to The Huntsman for a skittles evening!
Finally, there was also lots of opportunities for table top games too….always a firm favourite on club nights.

Quiz Night 1.5.25

In January we carried out a survey of club activities to see which events members enjoyed the most and also if there were any new activities they would like including in the programme. A quiz was requested as a new activity and it was certainly a great idea as everyone really enjoyed the evening.

A massive thank you goes to Assistant Leader Ryan Stevens for organising the evening and acting as Quiz Master. He was very ably assisted by club member Liam, thank you Liam. Also a big thank you to Julie and Jane for organising the raffle.

The snack bar was open for members to buy refreshments. Thank you to volunteers for organising all the different food and drinks.

As always, the raffle proved very popular with lots of lovely prizes.

Making Butterfly Houses 24.4.25

Everyone was pleased to be back at club after the Easter break, meet up with friends and enjoy a night of club activities. The most popular activity of the evening was definitely making butterfly homes and a huge thank you to Howard for organising everyone to make these. As members saw them being made more and more came to the table to make one to take home for their garden.

Easter Activities 3.4.25

It was great to have so many different activities to choose from on our Easter themed evening. Some members chose to make hats for the competition, some chose to decorate biscuits, many chose to do both! Alongside this lots of members decided to carry on with their favourite club activities including pool, puzzles and craft activities. It was certainly a great last session before our Easter Break, especially as one member brought a large cake for us all to join in to celebrate his birthday. Thank you!

Easter biscuit decorating was also very popular and everyone was very pleased to take their biscuits home!

Club Activity Nights

We hold regular club activity evenings where there are lots of different activities to choose from. These include Pool, Table Football, Puzzles, Drawing, Colouring and the snack bar is always open.

The activities are set out on tables and members choose which they would like to do, most people do several activities and of course have a chat with friends and visit the snack bar!

The snack bar is always popular and there are lots of drinks and snacks to choose from. It’s also a great place to have a chat.
Lots of members love the challenge of completing a puzzle.
The pool table is always popular.

Sometimes volunteers bring their dogs to club for part of the evening.

New Forest Meddlars 27.3.25

Thirty eight members attended an amazing evening of morris dancing, music and singing. A massive thank you to New Forest Meddlars for putting on a great evening of entertainment. Everyone hugely enjoyed watching, listening and joining in with the different routines.

First of all we were treated to a demonstration of a fabulous routine.
….and then it was our turn to learn the moves and join in!
Everyone was soon able to be part of the dance and as the evening went on more and more members, staff and volunteers joined in!
We all had a great evening.
All learning together.
We had a break from morris dancing when a club member entertained us with an Elvis song. Thank you Matthew we enjoyed listening to your amazing singing.
Lots more dancing followed.

This was certainly a fabulous evening with members, staff and volunteers having a great time. It was great to learn new dances while having so much fun.

Zumba 20.3.25

A huge thank you to Julie, Jane and Dickie who led the Zumba session last night. Lots of members had a great time joining in to all the different music and following the moves. Some staff, volunteers, parents and carers also had a go! It was certainly a fun night for everyone.
