On Saturday 17th June Everton and Lymore Social Club very kindly hosted a quiz in aid of Brockenhurst Gateway Club. It was a great evening with fifty people attending and joining in the fun. Here are some past and present volunteers and parent.
A huge thank you to the club for all their generosity and organisation. Also to everyone who attended. The evening raised £535.

Everyone really enjoyed the boat trip at Keyhaven. Thank you so much to Keyhaven Yacht Club for giving their time to organise this activity for us. Also for letting us use their amazing facilities. We were so lucky with the weather too.
It was lovely to be able to sit and admire the view over to The Isle of Wight.
Amazing picnic.
I’m so looking forward to going out on the boat.
We’re enjoying the view.
Great views.

Marwell Zoo 11.6.23

We had a great time visiting Marwell Zoo on Sunday 11th June.. Thank you to The Lions Club for organising this opportunity.
Watching the giraffes eat was a highlight of the day.
Debbie made sure we didn’t get lost. We still checked on our own maps!
Great views from the lookout tower across the whole zoo.

Shetland Pony Visit 8.6.23

Sarah, our club leader brought her Shetland ponies into club. We all really enjoyed meeting them and having an opportunity to lead them around.
Thank you to Chloe for helping Sarah and also to club member Steve for capturing this image on the night.

Woodwork

On club nights there is a very creative woodwork session. We enjoy making all sorts of things from colourful coasters to boxes to take home.

Great choice of colours for this coaster.

It took very careful sanding to make sure this box was ready for use at home.

Working hard to make sure everything is finished.

London Marathon

We are very proud that one of our volunteers, Lorraine Hewett, is running The London Marathon on 23rd April. Lorraine really enjoys volunteering at the club and she kindly agreed to be interviewed by three club users.

Here are the questions and answers;

Why have you entered The London Marathon?

I will meet loads of people and it will be great fun and very exciting too.

What do you think it will be like?

I think it will be fun.  I also think I will be very hungry and I will be doing lots of eating. Running up The Mall and seeing Buckingham Palace will be a real highlight.

Which do think will be your favourite part of the course?

Definitely, running over Tower Bridge.

Where do you like to train?

My favourite place to train is in the beautiful New Forest.

Afterwards the ladies had a great chat about their favourite sports. It is fantastic to hear that between them they play lots of different sports.  These include football and learning new tricks, cricket and golf.

A huge thank you to Lorraine for answering the questions.  Good luck, we will all be cheering you on.

Staff

We have three fantastic members of staff who organise and run varied, interesting and exciting activities, always ensuring these are run in a safe environment. These activities are usually in our club base at Brockenhurst Village Hall. They also often organise visits to different places such as walking at Mudeford, sailing at Keyhaven and a boat trip at Hythe. Look at our club programme to find out more. Club leaders also help you to register and make sure you are kept up to date with what is going on along with many other duties.
