Skittles Evening
A great evening was enjoyed by everyone at the Walkford pub.
Visit from Julian Lewis MP
Julian was happy to sit and join in with the activities and answer any questions from members, carers and families. One of our long standing members presented him with a Gateway clock that was made on one of our activity evenings.
Vehicle Evening 2016

Members enjoyed a fun evening in and/or on bikes, cars, emergency vehicles, steam engine and locating hidden items on the Maritime Archaeology Trust vehicle.
Visit to Mudeford Lifeboat Station
Despite being too chilly an evening for a picnic, members enjoyed listening to Gary Rhodes stories. He may us think about the dangers of the sea, and how the crew members who are all volunteers, put themselves at risk to help to help us. One of our lovely volunteers, Janet, put on one of the uniforms and was helped by one of our Gateway members.
Barge Trip
We enjoyed a chilly, but interesting barge trip from Bradford on Avon. A good time was had by all.
Paultons Park 2013
The weather stayed dry for our trip to Paulton’s park. It was a very long day but we all had so much fun. We went on a lot of the rides, looked at the lovely array of birds and penguins. We had a nice stroll around the grounds and enjoyed a picnic before heading off home. A good day was had by all.
Gateway’s Got Talent – Any dream will do 2013
A journey through the Gateway Calendar.
Finally all the hard work from Cynthia Wilson, Sue Joiner, our volunteers and our magnificent members paid off on Wednesday April 24th. Our fantastic performance was put on for our many supporters who came to watch at St Saviour’s church in Brockenhurst. A lot of fun and laughter was had by all. Our members showed their many talents and they shared their dreams with the audience while showing the many activities we do at Brockenhurst Gateway. We had refreshments and a raffle after the show where our members graciously took the well deserved praise. Thank you to everyone who supported us before and on the night. We will be planning another performance next year.
The Rehearsals
The Show
Valentines Supper Dance 2013
The Friends of Fernmount held a Valentine supper dance and it was very well supported. Brockenhurst Gateway club went a long to sing and dance along to the music by Dog Ruff. Many members had the opportunity to sing or play drums with the band which they thoroughly enjoyed. We all had a lovely supper and we are now looking forward to the next dinner dance at Christmas.
The Mary Rose 2013
Back in January, Trevor Sapey travelled from Portsmouth to talk about the Mary Rose. The evening was very interesting and fun. He brought along a lot of artefacts and costumes which the members tried on. We learnt a lot about how boats were built and information about King Henry VIII and his many wives. A good evening was had by all with many laughs. Thank you to Trevor.
Brockenhurst Fire Station visit 2013
Members of Brockenhurst Gateway were invited to visit Brockenhurst fire station to have a look around the station. We all had a good look around and asked lots of questions. Lots of members went on the fire engine. It was very interesting. Unfortunately, the visit was cut short because the firemen were called out to a fire. It was very exciting for our members watching them go on a shout and finding out what happens when an emergency call comes to the station. We have been invited back at a later date. Thank you to all the firemen at Brockenhurst fire station.
